Technology & Operations Consultancy

Independent consulting in software, automation and operational systems.

We help restaurants, hospitality and other small businesses turn the data they already have into systems they can check and decide from.

  • You work with the person who builds it
  • Data checked before anything is automated
  • A person approves what matters
Recorded on test and made-up data: a map of our software by department, how work flows to an approved action, one department as a pipeline of jobs, and a client app template where each change waits for a person.

Tools we build with

  • React
  • TypeScript
  • Python
  • Vite

Services

What we do

  • Operational systems

Data-readiness audits, source mapping and review-ready dashboards. We start from the exports and spreadsheets you already have and show what is reliable, what is missing, and what you can decide from today.

  • Automation

Scheduled refreshes, alerts and workflow automation for repeatable admin and checks. Added once the data can be trusted, with a person approving anything that touches money, customers or staff.

  • Software and websites

Websites, internal tools and integrations, built in React, TypeScript and Python. Fast, accessible, tested and documented.

Your business, mapped

Every department, its data, and the work that runs on it

This is how we map a business before we build anything: each department, the jobs that run there every week, where their data comes from, and what they are built on. Pick a department to follow its lines.

    • No-show follow-ups (waits on a person)
    • Review replies drafted (waits on a person)

Where to start

A Systems Health Check

Something in your workflow or systems is unreliable or wasteful, and nobody can say exactly what. A Health Check takes one narrow problem, follows it across the handful of systems and people it runs through, and tells you what is wrong and what to do first. It takes a few working days.

  • A map of how it works today

How the work and the data actually move between your systems and your team, written down so everyone can see it.

  • Findings, in priority order

What is going wrong, each with its evidence and what it costs you, ranked, with the quick fixes you can make straight away.

  • One recommended next step

A single, bounded piece of work to close the biggest gap. Never a plan to modernise the whole business.

We agree the boundary in writing before work starts. Anything we notice outside it is written down for you, and the work does not grow without your say.

Your customers' data stays in your systems, or in a private workspace set up for your business alone.

From your sources to an approved action

  • Till exports

Sales, as your till records them

  • Bookings

Covers and times from your booking system

  • Spreadsheets

The sheets the team already keeps

Checked data

Approved.

Decisions are flagged for review with their sources shown, and taken when a person says so.

Templates

A first system, by kind of business

Where we would start for each kind of business: its departments, the tools it probably uses already, the gaps we look for, the first pipeline, and who approves what.

restaurant.template.yamlTemplate
departments: kitchen, front of house, bookings, purchasing, finance
already_uses: a till, a booking system, a rota app, accounts, spreadsheets
gaps: stock counted on paper; no weekly view across sites
first_pipeline: till + stock + bookings → a draft weekly order
agents: order drafter, rota reminder, review-reply drafter
approves: head chef (orders), manager (replies)
salon-and-clinic.template.yamlTemplate
departments: front desk, treatments, retail, marketing
already_uses: online booking, a till, social accounts
gaps: no-shows chased by hand; retail stock unknown
first_pipeline: no-shows → a rebooking message drafted
approves: the front-desk lead
retail.template.yamlTemplate
departments: shop floor, online, buying, finance
already_uses: Shopify or Square, Xero, an email tool
gaps: shop and online stock disagree
first_pipeline: nightly stock check → a reorder list
approves: the buyer

    Systems and interface

The interface we run our own work on

Our owner interface, shown on its test data: every piece of software mapped by department, how work flows from sources to an approved action, one department as a pipeline of jobs, the board where agent work waits for a person, and a made-up example run replayed step by step.

    Client interface

A client app, as a template

The app a business's owner and managers open each morning, shown on a made-up salon and clinic group with three sites: today's figures with where each came from and how fresh it is, a source that has gone quiet, and the queue where agent work waits for a person to approve or dismiss it.

    Website and motion

A restaurant website: the painted journey

The story page of a restaurant's new website, still a prototype: as the visitor scrolls, a painted beach bar gives way to an island in Thailand on a framed map, then a globe turns and a route draws to the Welsh coast, ending in the dining room. The globe was rendered in Blender along the page's own camera, repainted in a gouache style with generated video, composed back and scrubbed by the scroll bar, with the place names drawn live on top.
